Peacekeepers Day Walk Without Fear
Wearing a pedometer every step you take over the course of the Peacekeepers
Day Weekend is counted. Sponsors can donate based on the number
of steps; the distance walked; or simply donate one lump sum. Walking
or running counts!

Peacekeepers Day Garden Party
On Peacekeepers Day Weekend (August 4, 5 and 6) invite friends over
for drinks, BBQ, or a meal. Charge admission, have contests, raffles,
or draws to increase donation. Check for the local CAVUNP
Chapter and invite a Peacekeeper to your event.

Invite friends and neighbours to join you for a Peacekeepers Day
barbeque. You put on the eats - they bring a donation.

Organize a Peacekeepers Day lunch or picnic with your office, club,
or church.

Organize a live or silent auction. Collect items from friends, neighbours
or local business; get 'sweat equity' donations such as yard clean-up,
gardening, or snow shovelling futures.

Run a 50/50 draw - sell numbered tickets and award 50% of the funds
raised as prizes - put the remaining 50% of the funds into honouring
peacekeepers.

Play a tennis match with your friends - losers pay.

Play a round of golf with your colleagues or better yet organize
a Peacekeepers Day Golf Tournament.The golfing community has a proud
history of support for Canada's efforts to rid the world of landmines.
Approach your local golf course. Block off areas with red ribbon
to mark minefields - charge to retrieve golf balls hit in these
areas.

Organize a Bowl-a-Thon. 'Sell' lanes to corporate sponsors. Participants
get pledges.

Organize a bike-a-thon. Work with the local school to use their
track. Participants get pledges based on the number of laps they
will do. Get a local fast-food donor to sponsor and donate product
- participants get free; attendees pay.
